Recognized for her involvement in community engagement, Brittany has a passion for a variety of social matters involving young people, gender equality and health.

Most recently, in 2013, Brittany was awarded the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of her work to foster leadership among young women in politics.

Equal Voice is a not for profit, non partisan organization that promotes the engagement of women at all levels of government. Working as the Newfoundland and Labrador Program Coordinator for Equal Voice, Brittany developed and implemented the Campaign Shadowing Program for Young Women. The program aimed to engage young women in politics and inspire the next generation of female leaders.

Currently, Brittany coordinates school programs with the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Newfoundland and Labrador where her priorities include teaching students the importance of being physically active and eating healthy, all while having fun.

Brittany has also been involved in the renewal of the YWCA in St. John's, working to develop and plan programs for young women. Brittany now plays an active role in the newly reformed organization as Treasurer.

An avid reader and physical enthusiast, Brittany has recently added organic backyard gardening to her list of hobbies and interests.
