Born and raised on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Andrew Middleton is an award winning Child and Youth Care Worker, group facilitator, speaker and consultant with over 20 years of experience working with youth.
In his diverse career, Andrew has worked with youth and adults alike in schools, residential treatment programs, group homes, custody centres, families, community organizations and recreation and wilderness programs across Canada. As a group facilitator and trainer, Andrew has a distinctive teaching style that incorporates fun and meaningful games which increases the impact and enjoyment of the lesson at hand. With this approach, he has created over 20 unique group programs, which are always in high demand having been facilitated to well over 40,000 people.
In addition to his role at Atlantic Youth, Andrew is also the Vice President of the Nova Scotia Child and Youth Care Workers Association, board member of the Rehtaeh Parsons Society, and co-chair of the past three Nova Scotia Provincial Child and Youth Care Conferences. Andrew is also a passionate advocate for improving the well-being of First Nations and Aboriginal youth, and spends considerable time each year working in remote fly-in communities, particularly those in James Bay, Nunatsiavut, Nunavik and Nunavut.
