TJ Maguire

TJ Maguire brings passion, inspiration and perseverance to his role as Urban Designer for Waterfront Development. He is proud to be part of a small, dynamic team collaborating to enhance our waterfront destinations in Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford and Lunenburg. Born and raised in the Halifax area, TJ has over 15 years experience in planning and design covering both private and public sectors across Canada. He is skilled in public place design, mixed-use development design, streetscape design, public engagement, architectural design and graphic communication. TJ strives to create places that are innovative, elegant and engaging.

TJ is a graduate of both the Centre for Geographic Sciences and Dalhousies School of Planning. In 2010, TJ was awarded the Leslie Oler Prize for Community and Environmental Design for his work on Nathan Green Square in Halifax and wrote his thesis on potential streetscape enhancements for Barrington Street.

Active as volunteer, TJ is involved in many community projects through Fusion Halifax (Barrington Benches Project and Get Down Halifax), Downtown Halifax Business Commission (Beautification Action Team and Mingle on Argyle Street) and was just nominated to the Board of Directors for the Planning & Design Centre.

TJ also has a passion for photography with a focus on Peggy's Cove and the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
