Originally from St. Johns Antigua W.I the island of 365 beaches, Kareem got involved at an early age in public speaking taking part in many competitions of which he was a three time Optimist Oratorical Competition winner, won the Jaycee’s Impromptu speech competition, and was also apart of the Junior Achievement Program were he served as Vice President of Finance and once bitten by the financial bug has not looked back since. Kareem moved to Nova Scotia back in 2004 to attend Saint Mary’s University to complete his Undergraduate Degree in Business. During his term at Saint Mary’s University Kareem also joined and served as treasurer and then president of the Sigma Chi Fraternity which brought out his philanthropic side getting involved in many fund raising ventures for the IWK and the Make a Wish Foundation. In 2009 Kareem graduated with his Bachelors of Commerce and a Certificate in Human resources as class valedictorian.
Employed since 2006 with the Bank of Nova Scotia, Kareem currently works as a Financial Advisor, and was a winner of the company’s best of the best award in 2009. Kareem continues to be actively involved in many fund raising activities through the Bank of Nova Scotia for many local organizations and clubs e.g. Parkers Street, JDRF, Bust a Move, United Way and many of the Sport clubs within the HRM of NS just to name a few. Kareem lives by his Unique selling proposition of being a leader, resourceful and his good natured spirit which easily form bonds with whoever he interacts with.
