Aaron McFarlane

Centre Director, Sistema New Brunswick
Saint John, NB

Aaron McFarlane is a musician who blends performance, education, and outreach to share his passion for music with children and adults alike.  He is currently the Director of Sistema New Brunswick's Saint John Centre.
Whether he is reaching new audiences by performing in airports and national parks, directing the largest strings program in East Africa, or serving as a musician in residence in a low income community, Aaron is redefining what it is to be a classical musician in the 21st century.
Aaron received his Bachelor of Music from McGill University and completed his Master of Music degree at Rice University.  He is a member of Symphony New Brunswick and serves on the board of The New Brunswick Competitive Festival of Music.  In 2014, Aaron was invited by the Korean Arts & Culture Education Services to lead 3 days of workshops for their International Arts Education Week.
When Aaron's not playing or teaching the violin, he can most likely be found hiking the Fundy Footpath.
