The selection process for each group of 21inc’s 21Leaders program within the Maritime Provinces is now completed. Of the 628 candidates who submitted their applications, 54 in total will take part in the leadership training program from September 2014 to June 2015.
“The popularity of our program is undeniable. The selection process has been a colossal task, and we had many excellent applicants. This is a clear demonstration that what we offer has value,” explains Jordan Brown, 21inc’s new Chairman and Associate at Cox & Palmer in Charlottetown.
In New-Brunswick and in Nova Scotia, 21 young adults aged 40 and under will now take part in the training offered through 21inc’s flagship program. For Prince-Edward-Island, the group will be composed of 12 participants as the program is being offered in the province for the first time. “21 Leaders is the program that launched us. As part of the training activities, the participants will develop leadership skills, and will gain further knowledge in business development. They will also be paired with a seasoned mentor who will accompany them in their development,” adds Jordan Brown.
The training activities begin in September. The participants, in each province, will have four weekend meetings that we refer to as “accelerators”. That’s where the debates for ideas and the sharing of knowledge and experience take place. Afterwards, the provincial groups will tour their respective provinces for a week, so as to better understand the stakes and concerns which define each of them.
“Our participants have been chosen partly on their capacity and their desire to improve their community’s socioeconomic situation. As such, it is essential that they discover the various realities existing in all corners of their respective province,” mentions Susan Holt, member of the Board of Directors at 21inc and President and CEO for the New Brunswick Business Council.
A recent study has shown the significant impact of the work that 21inc does in the development of these leaders and their capacity to generate global wealth for the region.
