Atlantic Provinces Emerging Leaders Summit launches Round Table Discussions

With the candidate nomination process closed, 21 inc, in partnership with Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette (KBRS), begins the selection process to identify 50 candidates who will be invited to attend the Emerging Leaders Summit in Digby, NS from October 20 to 23
. Nominees will be invited to participate in round table discussions within their respective provinces for the chance to qualify to attend the Summit.

"Participation in the first phase has been fantastic! The applications received provide us strong indication that young leaders want to contribute to regional development. The Emerging Leaders Summit offers motivated young people the opportunity to gain the tools and experience to build great organizations and great communities in Atlantic Canada. "

"The 50 emerging leaders chosen at the end of the selection process and invited to the Summit will leave Digby with a fresh perspective on the contribution they can make in their community, their province and the entire region. We are proud to support a program that equips young leaders with the skills needed to shape a better future for Atlantic Canada," adds Mark Surrette, the President of KBRS, Atlantic Canada's largest human resource consulting firm.

The Round Tables will take place from August 6 to 25, in diverse communities across Atlantic Canada. During the round table discussions, candidates must demonstrate their ability to provide strong peer mentorship, to deliver compelling presentations and to positively contribute to working groups; three key foundational skills for participants in the 21 inc's Emerging Leaders Summit.

Following an evaluation of the performance of the candidates, a judging panel composed of 10 regional leaders will select the Top 50 Emerging Leaders who will be announced on September 16th, in Moncton, NB and invited to attend the Summit. During the Summit, entitled "Leaving your Footprint in Atlantic Canadian Sand", the emerging leaders will have the opportunity to interact with established leaders on a range of subjects. The common theme will be the development of authentic leadership, as demonstrated by leaders who are self-aware, genuine, empathetic, as well as focused on results and long term success. By fostering a significantly more collaborative approach to leadership than the leadership styles of the past, 21 inc aims to equip candidates with the skills needed to inspire, encourage and mobilize groups, organizations and communities towards achieving their goals.
